Indore civic body orders crackdown on illegal structure in Goyal Avenue, ET RealEstate
INDORE: Continuing its crackdown on unauthorised constructions, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Tuesday took action to remove an illegal structure in Goyal Avenue.
The building officer, Shivraj Yadav, reported that Kishore Patidar was constructing two houses on a single plot in Goyal Avenue, which falls under Ward 36 of Zone 22, in violation of the approved building plan. Residents of the area lodged a complaint regarding this unauthorised construction with IMC commissioner Shivam Verma during a public hearing. Subsequently, the commissioner directed the zonal building officer to take action to remove the illegal construction.
“Despite the completion of the notice procedure, the builder failed to remove the illegal construction and cease the ongoing work. Consequently, a removal drive was conducted today to demolish the unauthorised structure,” additional commissioner (removal) Lata Agrawal said.
IMC has served notices against as many as 169 properties to remove hurdles to pave the way for the widening of an approximately 700-metre-long road from MR-9 to Malviya Nagar. The 80-feet road widening and construction work will cost around Rs 7 crore. The residents have been given 15 days to remove the hurdles on their own, as after this deadline, IMC will launch a removal drive.
