Executive director of Danville Business Alliance steps down |
Danville, Pa. — Rebecca Dressler, who has served as executive director of the Danville Business Alliance since 2018, announced this week she was stepping down
Before assuming the role as executive director, she worked as the nonprofit’s executive assistant.
It’s not because she’s not committed to the area where she herself grew up and now lives with her husband and three children. In fact, Dressler will still be seen frequently on Mill Street in her role as a Montour County Commissioner, a position she was elected to in 2023 and assumed in January of 2024.
But, now the chairperson of that board, Dressler is seeking a bit more work-life balance and believes the DBA will continue to flourish under new leadership.
“It has been a true honor to serve the Danville Business Alliance and our downtown community,” she said. “Over the past nine years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside passionate board members, dedicated volunteers, business owners, public officials and community partners.”
Dressler notes the organization has strengthened the local economy, enhanced the beauty of the downtown and created events that bring locals together to celebrate Danville. She especially enjoyed seasonal events which brought residents to the downtown area and reinforced a sense of community, she said.
Dressler plans to remain in her role until a new executive director is named and to assist in the transition to the new director.
She is a lifelong resident of the Danville area and a graduate of Penn State University.
The board of directors is working to select a new executive director, board members said.
