Mequon’s Kiddie Academy breaks ground | Ozaukee Co. Business News

MEQUON — Construction on Kiddie Academy, a national daycare center franchise that will be situated for the parcel at 10921 North Port Washington Road, is officially underway.

“We’re thrilled to be breaking ground on our second Kiddie Academy location, it means so much to us,” Owner/Manager Kuldeep Gupta said. “This isn’t just a win for our team but a proud moment for the families and educators who’ve backed our mission from day one. It’s about growth, trust and doubling down on our promise to bring top-notch early childhood education to more Wisconsin families. It’s about our hard work, community love and a big dream coming to life. Couldn’t be more grateful.”

The roughly 12,000 square-foot, 13-classroom facility was approved in November and will be comprised of a brick building with aluminum storefront windows and metal awnings located at the south end of the site, a kitchen and a drop-off lane accommodating ten vehicles. It will also include a playground with three pickle ball courts, a mini soccer field, and other play equipment situated at the west end of the site.

Its hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Despite initial traffic concerns from nearby business owners, Mark Seidl of Pinnacle Engineering Group, LLC recalled that the parcel was once slated for a 30,000 square-foot athletic club, a project with a much higher density and trip generation than what any child care facility would have. A comprehensive traffic study was undertaken and submitted to and approved by Ozaukee County and improvements were made to the road.

City staff revealed that the access points north of the development that leads to the Mequon Court Apartments, on the main road between the Arby’s and Landmark Credit Union, as well as the other to the south on the same road as Jilly’s Car Wash can all be used.
