Laura Cannon has joined Hinshaw & Culbertson as a partner.
Cannon will be part of the appellate team within the Government Practice Group. Her practice focuses on appellate cases related to commercial litigation, insurance matters and consumer financial services.
She previously served as a criminal justice act attorney for the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Cannon began her law practice at McGlinchey Stafford and practiced with other firms in New Orleans.
She earned a bachelor’s, cum laude, in political science and history from Tulane University and a law degree, magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School. Cannon served as law clerk for the U.S. District Judge Stephen Higginson on the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and U.S. District Judge Nanette Jolivette Brown of New Orleans.

Franchesca Lorio was named chief financial officer and Anne Johnson is the firm’s newest managing director.
Both women have decades of experience and have held leadership positions with the company.
Lauren Kilbourne has joined the company as vice president of the Tax Consulting Team.
She was previously manager of New Market Tax Credit applications at Cherry Bekaert.

Garett May is the new president and CEO of West Jefferson Medical Center.
May was most recently chief operating officer of Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama and earlier was CEO of Merit Health Natchez in Natchez, Mississippi.
He earned a bachelor’s and a master’s in business administration from Mississippi College and a law degree from Mississippi School of Law.

Dr. Adithya Hari has joined the faculty of Pennington Biomedical Research Center as an assistant professor and physician/nuclear oncologist in clinical science.
Hari will develop a research program in nuclear medicine and will dedicate a portion of his time to patient care through a clinical partnership with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
He earned a medical degree from Kurnool Medical College and a doctorate in clinical and translational science from Case Western Reserve University. Hari completed a fellowship in nuclear oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
