AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Monday extended the rebate scheme for advance property tax payment by a month until May 30. The decision was taken by the revenue committee of the civic body following an overwhelming response to the scheme, which provides up to a 15% concession to citizens who pay property tax for 2025-26 in advance.

New participants in the advance payment scheme will receive a 12% rebate, with an extra 1% for online payments, bringing their total benefit to 13%. Property owners who consistently paid advance tax for three consecutive years will qualify for an additional 3% concession, allowing them to enjoy a maximum 15% rebate.

Between April 8 and 28, the AMC received advance property tax from over 3.95 lakh residents, with a collection of Rs 482.89 crore. The total rebate amounted to Rs 52.78 crore.

Digital payments accounted for Rs 306.22 crore, while offline payments totalled Rs 176.68 crore. The west zone emerged as the highest contributor, with 1.03 lakh residents making advance payments of Rs 123.66 crore for 2025-26.
