As the DJC reported last month, Demolition Man was then preparing to lay siege to the vacant old Totem Commercial Center in Kirkland. American Capital Group acquired the Totem Lake property four years ago, then paying $30 million, and apartment plans emerged about the same time. Most all permits were finalized last year, and the city of Kirkland just approved a minor parking reduction.
