Former UTA Comms Exec Matt Leonard Lands at Initial Group, Untitled

Initial Group and Untitled Entertainment have hired former UTA corporate communications manager Matt Leonard as vp of corporate communications.

While at UTA, Leonard oversaw communications for the talent agency’s film and TV divisions. His departure from the Hollywood agency follows a changing of the guard at UTA, as Jeremy Zimmer, co-founder and CEO, announced he was stepping aside to make way for David Kramer as his successor.

Also at UTA, partner and chief communications officer Richard Siklos exited the agency in Jan. 2025. In his new role, Leonard will spearhead corporate communications for the TPG-backed Initial Group, which focuses on talent management, and the actor-focused Untitled Entertainment.

“This is a moment of tremendous growth for Initial Group and Untitled,” Leonard said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to join the team and lead the development of our corporate communications strategy — fostering impactful relationships with media and brand partners, and amplifying the work of our executives, managers, and clients. I look forward to helping tell the story of where we are — and where we’re headed.”

Before UTA, Leonard served as a senior communications manager at the Sundance Institute. “Matt brings a strong track record in strategic communications that will be essential as we continue to grow,” Initial Group CEO Michel Pratte said in a statement.

In 2024, TPG acquired a majority stake in Untitled through Initial Group. And Initial Group, in partnership with Untitled, then acquired the literary-management focused Grandview, merging the two companies under the Untitled banner.
