Ranchi civic body extends PMAY 2.0 scheme till 2029, ET RealEstate
RANCHI: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has floated fresh invitations for housing assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0. This initiative, implemented from September 1, 2024, will remain in force until 2029. Under the beneficiary-led construction (BLC) component, it aims to support housing-deprived families living within the RMC limits. Families, who were permanent residents under RMC limits and as on September 1 last year and do not own a pucca house, are eligible for the scheme. The annual household income of the families must be below Rs 3 lakh.”Applications can be submitted both online and offline including documents such as Aadhaar, income certificate, land ownership proof, and photos” said Chandradeep Kumar, assistant administrator of RMC.
That apart, applicants must also submit an affidavit declaring that they do not own a pucca house anywhere in the country. Applicants with clear land titles are eligible for direct financial assistance of up to Rs 2.5 lakh to construct their homes.
RMC’s city manager Aftab Alam said, “Since 2015, over 10,000 beneficiaries have been provided financial support under the PMAY scheme in Ranchi. The new phase will help thousands more.”
The civiv body has also made it mandatory to link Aadhaar numbers with mobile numbers for all applicants.
