Golf Business News – Leading putting coach joins Oulton Hall
Oulton Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort has welcomed leading putting coach Mark Bentley to its golf academy, further strengthening its commitment to delivering elite coaching experiences across all areas of the game.
A PGA-qualified professional with over 15 years of specialist experience, Bentley is one of the UK’s most respected putting coaches. Having joined the world of professional golf from a background in service industry business, Bentley brings a client-focused approach to his coaching, alongside a unique depth of technical knowledge.
Based at Oulton Hall’s state-of-the-art facilities, Bentley is excited about the opportunity to deliver high-quality, personalised coaching to more players. “I’m excited to be part of a group that’s investing so heavily in both its facilities and its coaching,” said Bentley. “Oulton Hall, and the wider QHotels Collection, offer a fantastic platform to deliver meaningful improvements to golfers’ games, and I’m looking forward to helping players of all levels unlock their potential on the greens.”
For players keen to improve, lessons with Bentley promise a no-nonsense, confidence-building approach. “I use technology to validate, not to confuse. My aim is always to keep things simple and give players information they can trust and use under pressure.”
Coaching with Bentley covers everything from green reading and AimPoint training, to speed control, start-line drills, and performance routines. Sessions can be tailored for complete beginners or advanced players, and golfers can choose between indoor sessions or heading outside onto Oulton Hall’s expansive putting green.

“We’re delighted to welcome Mark to the team” said Keith Pickard, Golf, Health Club & Spa Director at The QHotels Collection, which owns Oulton Hall. “His reputation as one of the UK’s most experienced putting coaches, combined with our state-of-the-art facilities, creates a unique opportunity for golfers of all levels to dramatically improve their performance on the greens. Mark’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to developing specialist coaching talent across our resorts.”
His goal is to create a consistent, expert-led putting experience across the group, with plans to expand specialist coaching opportunities and introduce new training formats. Moreover, with The QHotels Collection being an official partner of The PGA, Bentley is also looking forward to developing stronger connections across the game at every level.
The QHotels Collection is home to seven championship golf resorts across the UK, with continued investment into its coaching talent, facilities, and technology. From state-of-the-art performance studios to upgraded practice areas, the group is committed to delivering exceptional golf experiences for players of all levels.
