Jharkhand HC orders state government to mention timeframe for land survey, ET RealEstate
RANCHI: The Jharkhand high court on Wednesday ordered the state govt to mention a timeframe for completing land survey in the state. It also sought information on the appointment of amin and other employees in the land and revenue department to aid in the survey.
The court was hearing a PIL filed by Gokul Chand. Land survey had started in 1975, prior to bifurcation of the state. The work has suffered for decades due to the absence of employees with technical knowledge of land survey.
The dispossession of govt as well as private land has become a huge gamble in the absence of proper land survey, the petitioner said.
The case would next be heard on June 17.
