Valle Vista Health promotes within for CEO role

Valle Vista Health System has promoted long-time employee Kristen Primeau to CEO. In this role, Primeau will provide operational and clinical oversight for the facility’s inpatient and outpatient programs.

Primeau began working with Valle Vista in 2013 as an outpatient clinician and transitioned into other roles of increasing responsibility, including program director for youth services, assistant administrator, and executive director of subacute services. Under Primeau’s steadfast leadership, the outpatient programs expanded to add two opioid treatment programs, including an off-campus location, offering opioid treatment to meet the community’s need for these services.

Valle Vista’s 300-employee campus in Greenwood offers adult inpatient acute care for mental health and substance use disorder, youth and adolescent services, adolescent girls residential care, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, medication management and opioid treatment program.

“For 40-plus years, Valle Vista has been a stable and recognized part of the community. We have a mission to fill the mental health and substance abuse needs here. We don’t take this responsibility lightly. I am honored to have this opportunity,” Primeau said.

Johnson County home sales update

Johnson County residential real estate with pending home sales and inventory both increased significantly in April, while prices moderated.

April statistics, according to FC Tucker Company, are:

• Pending home sales increased 18.7%, compared to this time last year.
• Housing inventory increased 26.4%.
• The median home sale price increased 2.6% to $320,000 compared to this time last year.
• Homes in Johnson County sold in 17 days on average.

Doctor joins North Grove office

Dr. Andrew Benton has joined the team at Franciscan Physician Network North Grove Family Medicine in Greenwood and is seeing new patients.

The team of physicians diagnoses and treats medical illnesses, provides preventive care such as annual checkups and health risk assessments, and provides guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Southside engineering firm earns award

American Structurepoint, Inc., of Indianapolis, has earned a National Recognition Award for exemplary engineering achievement in the American Council of Engineering Companies’ 58th annual Engineering Excellence Awards. The award comes for the Emerson Avenue Corridor project in Indianapolis.

American Structurepoint’s corridor redesign significantly improves mobility, reduces traffic congestion, and enhances public safety for all modes of travel in a bustling, high-traffic area of southern Indianapolis. The two-mile corridor was widened from two to five lanes, including a dedicated left-turn lane, with a new bridge spanning I-65. Pedestrian accessibility in the area received a significant boost with the addition of a multi-use trail and new sidewalks featuring ADA-compliant ramps.

The project also included the installation of three new bus pads for the IndyGo transit system. Flooding issues have also been reduced, thanks to drainage improvements that addressed standing water in nearby ditches. A new bridge over a nearby creek minimizes recurring flooding issues at the nearby Franciscan Health Indianapolis hospital campus.

The project is eligible for additional honors as part of 194 entries this year, representing engineering excellence from throughout the nation and the world. Judging for the awards program took place in February and was conducted by a national 32-member panel of built environment leaders, along with experts from government, the media, and academia. Award criteria focused on uniqueness, technical innovation, social and economic value, and generating excitement for the engineering profession.
