Celebrating Success – the MIA 2025 Awards
On Tuesday 6 May, the industry gathered to celebrate the best of the best in the 2025 Nautilus Marine Insurance Marina of the year awards.
In this series, we celebrate the those that were recognised as finalists and winners of each award.
MIA Environment Award
Winner – is Royal Phuket Marina, Thailand. They are a Gold Anchor and Clean Marina facility committed to sustainability and environmental excellence.
Royal Phuket Marina’s initiative has been to become Asia’s first and only carbon-neutral marina, offering groundbreaking environmental commitment. This initiative was launched to address climate change, carbon emissions, and environmental sustainability in the marina industry. Recognizing the impact of traditional marina operations, Royal Phuket Marina committed to a three-phase approach: measuring, reducing, and offsetting carbon emissions. From a large-scale solar project to a carbon offset program as well energy-efficient operations and monitoring and shift sustain policies for the business and it tenants.

Highly Commended – One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove Singapore and is dedicated to environmental stewardship. They demonstrate this by its proactive adoption of sustainability initiatives and adherence to globally recognised standards. One°15 is a Platinum Gold Anchor marina, a Clean Marina and Fish Friendly Marina and recently signed the Marine Sustainability Pledge.
One°15’s initiative for this year’s environmental award has been a broader strategy to transition from diesel-powered to electric workboats, reducing carbon emissions and aligning with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s (MPA) vision for electrifying the harbour.
The marina now operates 2 electric workboats, showcasing an early adoption of sustainable technology in a traditionally fuel-dependent industry.

ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, Singapore
Finalist – Jones Bay Superyacht Marina. They are a Gold Achor facility, dedicated to environmental excellence, ensuring the long-term sustainability of Sydney Harbour while delivering world-class superyacht berthing.
This year Jones Bay’s initiative was to become a key partner in the world’s first Smarter Cities Cleaner Oceans program, led by Australian clean-tech startup ‘Seabin’. This initiative made Sydney the first city to implement 24/7 marine waste collection, with all data processed at Seabin’s Ocean Health Data and Microplastics Lab to drive policy change and behavioural shifts. This data & reporting is analysed alongside environmental variables to track pollution sources and inform governments.
