AIX 2025: PSS integration option for RISE Power

At-seat power provider Burrana has announced that its RISE Power system can now be integrated with Passenger Service Solutions controls, namely the overhead reading light control and attendant call button.

Making the announcement at AIX, the system has been envisaged as an option for widebody aircraft being refurbished for Low-Cost Long-Haul carriers that wish to delete the traditional seatback IFE systems to save on weight and cost.

Burrana’s solution allows for the addition of PSS functionality (attendant call and reading lights) within the RISE Power architecture with one box powering both USB outlets and essential PSS features, eliminating the need for separate PSS hardware.

The new product is designed for 747, 767, 777, 787, A330 and A340 aircraft types. The first aircraft modification is anticipated to enter service in 2026 on a launch customer to be announced soon.

David Pook, VP Global Marketing & Sales states, “We are thrilled to be selected for our unique ability to provide an integrated in-seat power + passenger service solution using a one-box approach, significantly reducing weight and complexity, and are already seeing growing interest from additional airlines and MROs.”
