Dallas Road construction near I-82 kicks off

Anyone taking Dallas Road as their way into or out of West Richland from Interstate 82 will want to look for an alternative route for the next year. 

Work on the shoulders and intersection of Dallas Road and Trowbridge Boulevard starts this week as part of a yearlong effort to improve traffic capacity and safety, according to a release from the city of Richland.  

The intersection of Dallas Road and Ava Way also will undergo improvements, including road widening, new roundabouts, sidewalks, accessible road crossings and utility and fiber infrastructure expansion or installation. 

As a result, traffic will be reduced to 25 miles per hour during construction. Drivers should anticipate delays and are encouraged to plan alternate routes when possible.  

“The reduced speed limit will be strictly enforced throughout the construction zone to ensure the safety of both crews and motorists,” said the city’s release.
